AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology Test & Evaluation Program Mission Support Engineering & Analysis and Training. We are searching for a mission-driven professional with a Top-Secret clearance to join our team as an Electronic Technician 3near Stafford/Fredericksburg VA.
Responsibilities
As an Electronic Technician 3 you will:
- Lay out build test troubleshoot repair engineer and modify video surveillance concealment systems and equipment.
- Provide support with systems such as computer equipment test equipment and electronic control systems applying principles and theories of electronics electrical circuitry electronic and electrical testing and physics.
- Discuss layout and assembly procedures and problems with Electronics Engineers (EEs) and provides documentation to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
- Assemble complete prototype models according to engineering instructions technical manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
- Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Setup standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional operational environmental and life cycle tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models. Analyzes and interprets test data.
- Adjust calibrate align and modify circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
- Writes technical reports and develops charts graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate systems operating characteristics malfunctions deviations from design specifications and functional limitations for consideration by engineers in broader determinations affecting system design and laboratory procedures.
- Support a Department of Justice FBI program who designs builds and implements highly technical data collection systems.
- Support a technology lab who dynamically implements technology to meet their outside customers uniquely defined evidence collection needs.
Qualifications
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with the willingness to take an agency CI polygraph when requested.
- High School Diploma (HS) and 13 years associates degree (AS) and 10 years bachelors Degree (BS) and 6 years or masters Degree (MS) and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in building and maintaining physical concealments with electronic components.
- Able to design assemble (electronic / mechanical) and test electronic firmware and hardware.
- Experience in digital microwave cellular and internet protocol data egress technologies and techniques.
- Provides support with systems such as computer and servers test equipment and electronic control systems applying principles and theories of electronics electrical circuitry electronic and electrical testing.
- Experience in soldering and electronic testing with appropriate equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate one-on-one or in large groups.
- Must be able to travel some and perform system installations on poles towers and or buildings.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry a 30 pounds load.
Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $91600.00/Yr. - USD $153000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
