As a Security Guard - Secure Entry Screener in Newark NJ you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen employees visitors and drivers as required including verifying identification checking credentials monitoring entry points and documenting access per site procedures.
- Conduct security-related screening of bags packages and/or shipments as assigned using approved methods and reporting prohibited or suspicious items to site leadership.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including contacting appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services when needed and completing reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas loading docks parking areas and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to identify hazards or irregular conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
