The research unit Forest & Soil Ecology assesses the impact of climate change and management on forests and their soils. For 20 months the Soil Biogeochemistry group is looking for a

PostDoc in Soil Carbon Biogeochemistry 90-100% (f/m/d)

You will work within the SNSF-funded RootForC project a collaborative project investigating the contribution of roots to soil organic matter in European forests under global change linked to the CLEANFOREST COST Action. The project investigates the transfer of root-derived carbon into soils the residence time of this carbon in soils of global change experiments and along climatic and nitrogen deposition gradients. The research will involve the use of stable isotopes radiocarbon and organic matter properties. These datasets will then be linked to environmental variables in close collaboration with other scientists at WSL and other European institutions.
You hold a PhD degree in environmental sciences soil science microbiology or related disciplines. You should demonstrate strong communication skills self-motivation an aptitude for field research data analysis and commitment to collaborative interdisciplinary research. Good English writing and speaking skills are required.
