Job Description
- Have final responsibility for the successful turn-key delivery of one or more simultaneous Material Handling projects and are the link between the customer and the project team consisting of Vanderlande Industries staff and subcontractors.
- Project financial and budgetary control including the initial project budget breakdown and cash flow management.
- Project planning including the integration of the project plan with the customers overall planning; Quality control and risk management.
- Management of the client relationship and client expectations acting as the primary interface with the customer; Manage reporting ensure the identification and escalation of issues/risks.
- Understand contract terms and conditions and maintain a clear document trail. Lead a multi-disciplined team including subcontractors.
- Select third-party suppliers including contract negotiation.
- Travel when required to perform the tasks as described for this position.
- Extended travel periods may be required during the commissioning and acceptance phase of each project. Manage multiple tasks and projects
Required Qualification
- Bachelors degree level or similar qualification with relevant technical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Management with projects exceeding 5 million.
- A natural leader with excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Knowledge and application of Asian market requirements.
- Good command of English and Chinese (Traditional)
- Experience in Material Handling projects or similar industries.
- Technically competent (multidisciplinary) with good commercial acumen.
- Dynamic problem solver with drive determination and resilience to deliver results.
- Structured and organised approach to Project Management with flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing project environment.
- Understanding of control systems hierarchy and implementation.
- Applicants must have an understanding of relevant contract law and have experience in planning and management in a multi-disciplinary environment. Customer focus is of the highest importance.
