Salary Schedule is based on the 2026-2027 school year.New hires typically begin at Step 1 on the Salary Schedule. The Siuslaw School District allows step credit the salary scale for years of certified teaching experience.

This is a 10-month/renewable position that includes benefits of paid medical and leave.

All offers of employment are contingent upon board approval and the applicants satisfactory completion of a drug screening test(including marijuana) background and reference checks. Siuslaw School District strives to provide a safe alcohol and drug free environment for all employees.

TITLE:School Psychologist 1.0 FTE Certified

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive special education evaluations leading the evaluation planning process and analyzing and interpreting the results. This role also involves consulting and collaborating with staff and parents on psycho-educational evaluations and effective prevention activities. A core function is guiding staff and parents regarding students educational emotional behavioral and developmental needs and supporting school teams in making data-based decisions.

WORK HOURS/LOCATION:

Start time: Flexible to be determined between School Psychologist and Special Programs Director

End Time: Flexibleto be determined between Speech Language Pathologist and Special Programs Director

Days: Monday - Friday

Office Location: Flexibleto be determined between Speech Language Pathologist and Special Programs Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Oregon TSPC license School Psychologist endorsement or National Association of School Psychologist licensure
  • ESOL endorsements preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience strongly preferred

KNOWLEDGESKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ensures compliance with state/federal special education eligibility and evaluation
  • Actively contributes to school regional district and Special Programs teams to solve problems and

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Special Programs

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Special Programs Director in improving SPED
  • Communicate effectively with students parents and
  • Participate in building data team and SPED Certified team
  • Complete special education evaluations and re-evaluations within state timelines for all required eligibility categories (DD ASD ED ID OHI SLD TBI).
  • Interpret evaluation progress monitoring psychological psychiatric and special education data for
  • Use various assessment tools for academic cognitive psychological processing adaptive social emotional/behavioral and mental health status.
  • Write clear organized and educationally relevant evaluation
  • Fluently use technology for all job
  • Facilitate SPED training and professional development as
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Special Programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Stamina for eight hours of student instruction and supervision.
  • Repetitive motions such as writing and typing.
  • Transportation of student files assessment materials and supplies.
  • Standing walking and sitting.
  • Occasional physical interaction with students as provided by law and to ensure the physical safety of the student and/or others.
  • Occasional bending kneeling squatting climbing of stairs.
  • Lifting/carrying: up to 40 lbs.

MINIMUM TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Certified Contract.

SALARY LEVEL: Placement on Certified Salary Schedule.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
