Bus Washer

CYO Transportation provides school bus services to a variety of public private and parochial schools as well as to numerous youth-serving organizations. The programs mission is to get passengers to their destination safely on-time and ready to learn and participate. The transportation services have grown to include home-to-school routes serving area schools and organizations.

Salary: $ 25.00 per hour

Location: Onsite 5 days a week

Under the general guidance of the Operations Manager the Bus Washer cleans school buses agency vehicles shop areas fuels and parks vehicles.

• Position performs cleaning and minor routine maintenance tasks outdoors at the CYO Transportation yard.
• Wash buses and vehicles inside and outside.
• Move buses and vehicles to keep yard organized and efficient.
• Keep buses and vehicles fueled as needed.
• Empty gabage cans around yard and shop area.
• Keep yard shop and shed areas clean and organized.
• Make sure buses with particulate filters are plugged in as needed.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to effectively use oral and written communicatioon in the performance of duties and responsibilities
• Ability to read meters and record data
• Ability to work various hours including early morning and late evening shifts
• Ability to learn CYO procedurures regulations and requirements with respect to saftety operations and organization.

• Demonstrates the necessary attitudes knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations.

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Frequent bending standing stooping squatting reaching twisting sitting talking and hearing.
• Frequent lifting pushing and pulling.
• Occasional climbing and balancing.
• Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists hands and/or fingers.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Driving a car required: Must have a valid California drivers license and be able to provide proof of DMV record and personal insurance if required.

• Work in this classification may involve exposure to variable weather noise dust fumes vibrations airborne particles noxious odors grease and oil cleaning chemicals solvents and spills. Assignments may involve climbing reaching stooping and walking on slippery surfaces.
• The worker is occasionally exposed to cleaning products
• The worker is subject to noise: Noise level in work environment can be moderate to excessive.
• Work is performed at the CYO Transportation yard and in the field in all weather conitions.
