Job Description
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Gatehouse Rounds in Brooklyn NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas complete routine rounds and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control assist staff and guests with clear communication and customer service and document concerns and observations. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities appropriate for a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents resident and/or visitor concerns and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the facility common areas and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and property grounds observe and report suspicious behavior and document activity using written reports and/or electronic reporting systems.
- Support staff with de-escalation and respectful rule enforcement assist with orderly movement within the site and follow established protocols for prohibited items and/or disruptive behavior.
Minimum Requirements:
- A state county or city issued security license is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
