Job Summary

3 Month Contract With A local Authority


Job Purpose

To deliver and continuously improve services for children young people and their families through high-quality social work interventions and effective partnership working. The Team Manager will lead a team of professional social workers and support staff to ensure childrens safety promote family resilience and ensure service delivery aligns with statutory requirements corporate policies and budgetary parameters.




Key Responsibilities

  • Lead manage and support a multidisciplinary team including social workers alternatively qualified staff and support personnel.

  • Ensure the team delivers high-quality interventions in line with legislation corporate policies and allocated resources.

  • Promote and champion social work values prioritizing child safety and family-centered practice.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement innovation and reflective practice within the team.

  • Embed effective quality assurance processes performance monitoring and evaluation of service delivery.

  • Ensure services are delivered efficiently effectively and in line with statutory frameworks.

  • Promote co-production and actively seek the voice of children young people and families in planning and delivery.

  • Ensure interventions are timely proportionate and evidence-based keeping children safe and where possible supported within their families.

  • Collaborate with partner agencies to deliver integrated services and support pathways.

  • Provide regular reflective supervision to all team members ensuring staff development and competence.

  • Monitor team attendance absence and recruitment needs to maintain service continuity.

  • Encourage a learning culture supporting staff to access training development opportunities and mentoring.

  • Promote staff wellbeing resilience and high morale within the team.

  • Accountable for team performance ensuring delivery against key performance targets and organizational objectives.

  • Support efficiency and innovation in service delivery and resource management.

  • Maintain transparency and accountability in reporting decision-making and practice standards.



Requirements

  • Extensive experience in social work including assessment and child protection.

  • Proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.

  • In-depth understanding of child protection legislation social work practice standards and safeguarding procedures.

  • Experience in partnership working with statutory voluntary and community organizations.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills including coaching and performance management.

  • Ability to establish effective professional relationships with children families carers and partner agencies.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Capacity for reflective practice innovation and openness to learning.

  • Ability to manage resources effectively within budgetary constraints.

  • Strong value base guiding ethical and child-focused practice.

  • Commitment to quality transparency and accountability.

  • Advocates for childrens rights and actively promotes their voice in all aspects of service delivery.

  • Resilient flexible and able to lead under pressure.
