Job Summary
Knihobot & Bookbot is a recommerce platform through which more than 10 million books have already passed. Every week we send around 120000 books to new homes - and were growing fast in volume complexity and expectations on decision-making.
To scale responsibly we need finance that is fast precise and increasingly automated. Thats why were opening a role for a Junior CFO: someone who will make reporting fast and bulletproof eliminate manual work through automation and help leadership make smart calls as we expand into new markets.
Why this role exists
As we grow and expand internationally finance must be:
- Faster (shorter close; pushing toward daily closure for key views)
- More reliable (one source of truth consistent KPI definitions)
- More automated (destroy manual inputs reduce error rate)
- More decision-ready (unit economics market scorecards cash visibility).
Main goals:
1. Fast accurate reporting
- Take full ownership of weekly and monthly financial reporting.
- Improve close speed and predictability we want reports that are trusted and ready whenever needed.
- Push the team toward daily readiness on key financial views.
2. Automate and eliminate manual work
- Spot manual errorprone steps and redesign them.
- Lead automation initiatives with the data & tech teams (automated imports internal accounting app updates validation checks integrations).
- Build a finance system that scales with market expansion.
3. Finance that drives decisions
- Help leadership answer whats happening and what we should do next.
- Contribute to forecasting rolling planning and scenario analysis.
4. Partner across the company
- Work with folks in data ops commercial teams and leadership.
- Translate finance into usable business insights and action plans.
- Push for better financial controls without bureaucratic overhead.
Who were looking for
- You think in terms of systems and scale not just tasks.
- You ask why is it done this way and have ideas on making it better.
- Works well in a fastpaced environment and adapts quickly to change. We are not a slightly faster company. We go lightning-fast and change the directions quickly if needed.
- Strong analytical skills and understands how numbers reflect real business decisions.
- Comes from a finance or data background. Knowledge of accounting knowledge is a strong plus but we value much passion and sense for numbers than many years of accounting hard skill.
- Enjoys improving systems not just maintaining them.
- Advanced Google Sheets/Excel is a must SQL / BI tools are nice-to-have.
- Fluent Czech and English.
Were not looking for someone who:
- Only executes repetitive tasks without improving them.
- Produces reports that sit in a folder and never get used.
- Waits for instructions we want people who look for problems and fix them.
