Integration Engineer
Vanderlande understands the complexities associated with operating a successful airport and distribution and Warehousing operation and delivers future-proof logistics process automation.
These automation systems are composed of many (electro-) mechanical and IT components built by teams in various parts of the world and must be integrated with other (software) systems to support the processes of our customers.
As an Integration Engineer you are involved in integrating the various components and (sub)systems into a solution. This is especially challenging for large and complex airport and parcel systems consisting of individual carrier systems automatic storage and retrieval systems automated guided vehicles robots conveyors control software and IT infrastructure. You test the system to ensure that it works according to the design. Often testing involves attempts to intentionally break the system to identify any problem areas based on an analysis of technical risks. Test- and integration engineers contribute to the success of projects through their superior knowledge of the system as a whole its operational objectives how its parts work together and the technical factors that go into its development.
Key responsibilities:
- Advising on the use of standard solutions and the impact of special solutions
- Understanding the customer processes and acting as an advisor in correctly estimating the impact of changes
- Ensuring that all project and customer requirements are met
- Create system requirements according to customer requirements
- Developing the integration plan the testspecificationsand the test plans
- Leads integration ofmore or less knownrisks:
- Independently draws up an integration plan and executes it once it has been accepted.
- Leads small project team: Manages quality progresscostsand information provision.
- Puts forward proposals for optimising the concept
- Experienced sparring partner for engineering and project management.
- Progress monitoring with clear concise reporting
- Managingcomponentdeliveries by suppliersby means ofverification and validation
- Integrating (sub-)systems in existing customer systems
- Identifyingrisks and finding solutions to reduce them
- Finding potential and unresolved problems through an efficient common sense approach
DetailRequirements:
- Familiar with customer processes in theWarehouse Automation/ Parcel& Postal industries
- Familiar withshuttle system/automatically sorting/WCSapplications
- Familiar with software layer controllayerand IT techniques
- Builds partnerships with customers and with internal and external suppliers
- Able to find the right balance betweentechnique quality leadtimeand cost
- Well-developed analytical skills and you think at the system level
- Proactive and pragmatic
- Able to motivate people at all levels
- Fluent English
- Willing to travel and to spend 25% to 50% of your time working on-site in the project handover phase
