Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a GIS Analyst for our United States Army Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) Support contract. This is an on-site role working at U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) Stuttgart located in Stuttgart Germany.

The Stuttgart Geospatial Analyst will be part of a dynamic fast-paced team developing and executing geospatial solutions for USAG Stuttgart Directorate of Public Works (DPW) and Garrison support activities. Analyst is expected to collect produce analyze disseminate and maintain consistent and accurate installation geospatial data and products. Analyst will utilize GIS and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) processes and software in support of the installation management mission.

What You Will Do:

As the Stuttgart GIS Analyst at Woolpert you will be responsible for all aspects of DPW and Garrison geospatial data production analysis maintenance and workflow processes:

  • Develop and maintain the GIS and cartographic information products and services required to support the USAG Stuttgart mission
    • Manage geodatabases feature datasets feature classes and associated geospatial layers
    • Maintain Spatial Data Standards for Facilities Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) compliance for US Army geospatial enterprise integration
  • Create update and produce a variety of installation range and vicinity maps drawings plans and other graphic representations using cartographic techniques to represent spatial data
  • Perform data quality assurance and control (QA/QC) ensuring compliance with geospatial data standards
  • Perform field data collection to support new construction and fill data gaps for completed projects
  • Implement consistency of design across all GIS mapping products including standard symbology to maintain consistency with US Department of War Federal agency and industry standards and accepted practices
  • Utilize government software for polishing publications adding standardized map elements and generating annotation for use in briefs and presentations

What You Will Bring:

  • Ability to understand speak read and write the English and German languages
  • Ability to obtain a US Department of War common access card (CAC)
  • Must already reside in Germany/EU or be able to arrange own transportation/residence permit/work visa
    • Ability to relocate if necessary - no relocation assistance offered
  • Bachelors degree and two (2) years geospatial experience OR four (4) years related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Understanding of GIS concepts and terminology
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS software
  • Experience with CADD software (e.g. Bentley MicroStation Autodesk AutoCAD)
  • Understanding of field data collection techniques and principles
  • Two (2) years of experience in a role requiring:
    • Excellent communication and consulting skills with emphasis on client and team member engagement
    • Proven experience providing excellent customer service
    • Strong technical proficiency using Microsoft Office products
    • Very good written and verbal communication skills for a dynamic working environment
    • Attention to detail - proven experience meeting data quality assurance and accuracy standards
    • Strong organizational time management and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently collaboratively as part of a team and as a member of a large organization
    • Ability to offer constructive feedback and problem solving as well as clear direction to support goals
  • Experience with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) GIS data standard or other defined spatial data models preferred.
  • Experience with the Army Geospatial Enterprise (AGE) and/or Army IGI&S program and data preferred.
  • Experience with Army IGI&S products and standards preferred.
  • Experience with ePRISMS preferred.
  • Proficiency in processing and using geospatial imagery and lidar data preferred.
  • Experience with GPS surveying or field data collection preferred.
