The Opportunity:

Were looking for two (2) interns to join our Vancity Operations Command Centre for a 4-month opportunity. The Vancity Operations Command Centre provides 24 x7x 365 monitoring and operational oversight for critical IT systems. The team ensures system availability stability and timely incident response while maintaining strong governance and documentation standards. These roles will report directly to the Manager of the Operations Command Centre.

A typical day would involve:

  • Monitoring daily system health dashboards including Splunk Grafana and Control M for Digital Banking and core banking services
  • Reviewing and action Digital Banking tickets in ServiceNow following defined triage and documentation standards
  • Assisting with ticket updates backlog management and ensuring proper categorization and assignment
  • Supporting Command Centre analysts with incident documentation including timelines impact statements and communication updates
  • Monitoring recurring daily operational tasks across pre COB COB and post COB activities
  • Escalating anomalies or trends observed in dashboards and participate in team discussions on potential monitoring gaps

  • A team player - you can engage with members of your team as well as cross-functional teams and are willing to collaborate across projects and initiatives.

You have:

  • Current enrollment or recent graduation from an undergraduate program within an applicable field and eligible for co-op/internship opportunities
  • An interest in troubleshooting technical issues across applications infrastructure and Digital Banking systems
  • Understanding of incident triage principles including impact assessment prioritization and timely escalation
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency while following defined ITSM processes and documentation standards
  • Interest in root cause analysis and identifying patterns or recurring issues
  • Process driven mindset with attention to detail in ticket updates categorization and audit readiness
  • A willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow
  • Basic understanding of incident management concepts
  • Exposure to log monitoring or dashboard tools such as Splunk or Grafana
  • Foundational knowledge of networking infrastructure or application support

What Youll Earn:

This role offers a pay range of $27.85/hr.
