ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

CAREER DEVELOPMENT INNOVATION AND TEACHER EDUCATION

Duties to Commence August 2026

THE OPPORTUNITY

A senior leadership position responsible for implementing division-wide programs in Career Development Physical Education Adult Education Technology Education as well as overseeing Teacher Education programs Innovation and the appropriate use of AI technologies in education. Youll oversee strategic planning program development and effective allocation of human financial and material resources with an annual budget of approximately $7.9 million. Success in this position requires both visionary leadership and practical expertise in delivering measurable student achievement while honoring Indigenous pedagogies and cultural practices.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Provide strategic leadership for adult technology and physical education career development and transition programs throughout the Division.
  • Lead change initiatives and analyze data to implement innovative instructional practices.
  • Drive accountability for student results achievement data and program evaluation
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities partner organizations and stakeholders
  • Champion a culture of academic achievement through purposefully designed student-centered learning environments and evidence-based approaches

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Masters degree in Education or in the process of obtaining a Masters degree and a Bachelor of Education degree
  • A permanent professional Manitoba teaching certificate (or eligibility for certification)
  • Minimum three (3) years of administrative experience in program coordination/management in an education environment
  • Proven track record leading educational programs with measurable student outcomes
  • Deep understanding of Indigenous pedagogies cultures and community-engaged education models
  • Strong expertise in budget management and resource allocation
  • Excellent communication with strong interpersonal conflict resolution and community relations skills
  • Background in strategic planning and organizational change management
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and organizations
  • Valid Manitoba drivers license (this position requires extensive travel within the Division)
