Job Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for analysing business requirements and delivering data-driven insights through high-quality reporting and analytics with a strong focus on Power BI. The role supports business decision-making by translating operational and strategic needs into clear requirements robust data models and intuitive dashboards.
The role operates with a moderate level of autonomy and works closely with business stakeholders to ensure accurate reliable and meaningful reporting solutions.

Key Accountabilities

Business Analysis
Engage with stakeholders to gather analyse validate and document business requirements
Translate business needs into functional data and reporting requirements
Analyse existing processes and data flows to identify improvement opportunities
Produce clear and structured documentation including:

o Business requirements documents
o Functional specifications
o Data definitions and assumptions

Support change initiatives through impact analysis and stakeholder engagementPower BI Reporting & Analytics
Design develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards aligned to business KPIs
Build and maintain efficient data models using best practices
Develop calculations and measures using DAX
Use Power Query (M) to transform and prepare data
Ensure reports are user-friendly performant and fit for purpose
Implement row-level security (RLS) where required
Maintain and enhance existing reporting solutions

Data Quality & Governance
Validate data accuracy completeness and consistency across reports
Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with data owners
Support standardisation of metrics definitions and reporting approaches
Ensure reporting outputs meet governance audit and control requirements

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
Act as a key analytical contact for business users
Present insights and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Provide guidance and support to users on Power BI reports and dashboards
Work collaboratively with IT data engineers and developers to deliver solutions

Skills Knowledge & Experience

Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a data-driven environment
Strong hands-on experience developing reports in Power BI
Practical experience with:

o DAX calculations and measures
o Data modelling and relationships
o Power Query / M

Experience eliciting and documenting business and reporting requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Technical Skills
SQL (writing queries joins aggregations)
Advanced Excel skills
Experience working with multiple data sources and systems

Required Experience:

Senior IC
