Job Summary
Senior Risk Manager Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) Directive
Were seeking an experienced Sr. Risk Manager to lead the ECGT Directive program within Amazons Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Compliance (RISC) organization across the European Union. This strategic role sits within our Sustainability team driving our commitment to responsible business practices and environmental leadership. ECGT sits at the intersection of product traceability digitalization and sustainability where much of future EU regulatory build is taking shape.
This is a unique opportunity to own a mission-critical initiative with direct visibility to senior leadership. Youll shape how Amazon empowers consumers by eliminating greenwashing preventing premature product obsolescence and ensuring transparent information on product durability and reparability.
Youll orchestrate cross-functional collaboration across different Tech teams Legal Operations Public Policy and Business gaining deep insights into Amazons complex EU ecosystem. Success in this role requires exceptional judgment to navigate ambiguity and make high-stakes decisions independently combined with strong stakeholder management skills to align diverse teams toward common goals. This high-impact role offers full autonomy to design innovative compliance solutions and engage directly with senior leadership.

Key job responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction of the ECGT program making autonomous decisions to ensure regulatory compliance while optimizing seller experience across European marketplaces
Design and implement end-to-end processes orchestrating multiple workstreams across specialized teams to deliver scalable solutions
Own executive-level reporting and communication directly engaging with senior leadership to drive strategic decisions
Monitor program KPIs leveraging data analytics to drive continuous improvement
Identify opportunities for technological innovation and process optimization to enhance food information transparency
A day in the life
Youll lead strategic sessions with Tech Legal Public Policy Business and Operationstranslating ECGT requirements into scalable solutions while making autonomous decisions on compliance trade-offs.
Youll monitor program KPIs identify innovation opportunities and engage directly with senior leadership on executive reporting and strategic decisions.
Youll solve problems ranging from tactical (validating durability claims across millions of ASINs) to strategic (positioning Amazons sustainable commerce leadership) navigating ambiguity while aligning diverse stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements and optimize seller experience.
About the team
The TSE Product Sustainability team launched in October 2024 to address horizontal sustainability regulations impacting listing and website display plus emerging digitalization requirements like Digital Product Passports. Its a dynamic mission-driven team passionate about shaping Amazons environmental leadership across the EU.
- Experience in compliance audit or risk management
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
- Speak write and read fluently in English
- Excellent communication skills ability to simplify complex topics
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Masters degree or equivalent
- Experience working with engineering and technical teams to build automated solutions
- Experience in data analysis and extracting insights to make data-backed business decisions
- Experience in e-commerce
- Experience in sustainability
