Job Summary
The Intern is responsible for applying engineering principles through the planning and development of tools methods processes facilities and equipment that maximize the quality of the final product in the most effective efficient and economical way possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects
- Assist with standardizing engineering drawings
- Contribute to ongoing testing efforts in the engineering test lab
- Update and maintain engineering specifications and standards
Critical Competencies
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills which foster teamwork and collaboration and develop high quality working relationships to influence gain support and achieve results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively deliver and transfer technical concepts.
- Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software applications (Word Excel PowerPoint).

Physical Demand and Work Environment:
Potential physical demands include but are not limited to frequent walking and standing occasional twisting stooping carrying handling pushing and pulling climbing kneeling and lifting to 50 lbs. Potential sensory demands include but are not limited to hearing and seeing.
The majority of time is spent in a manufacturing production environment with some (but not all) climate-controlled areas. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn and proper safety precautions must be observed.
