The Opportunity
We are seeking a Pipeliner who will engage in the operation and maintenance of our natural gas pipelines to affect continuous efficient and safe operations.
This individual must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision who possesses strong analytical troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
This position is represented by the United Steelworkers Local 372 and the filling of the position is subject to the terms and conditions of the governing collective bargaining agreement.
What youll do
Assist with construction and replacement of new and existing lines
Patrol pipeline repair leaks dig and backfill ditches and bell holes
Coat and lay pipe
Install anodes and gates
Operate inspect and lubricate valves
Clear right-of-way utilizing hand tools and chemical sprays
Assist with corrosion and leakage surveys
Gauge wells and record readings
Paint buildings pipeline markers piping and other facilities using spraying and brushing equipment
Load and unload tools equipment and material
Operate equipment such as: power winch pneumatic tools (pavement breakers jack hammers and tampers) tapping machine and water pumps and using hand tools such as: picks shovels pipe and ratchet wrenches dies pipe cutters etc.
Manage contractors and vendors while on-site
Use various mowers and weed eaters to keep facility maintained
Adhere to environmental policies by collecting samples and following appropriate reporting procedures and associated clean-up of any spills
Assist in the compilation of shipping manifests
Maintain public relations with farmers landowners consumers contractors and other utility workers
Operate Company pickup truck
Complete work orders enter data into the work management system create new work orders SAP
Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic mathematical and computer skills
Ability to understand piping operating drawings
Preferred Qualifications
One or two years of technical training and/or experience in mechanics heavy equipment electrical/electronics pipeline or wells
Knowledge and experience in the use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Experience repairing pipeline leaks and locating and marking pipelines
Experience with valve operation inspection maintenance and repair
Experience operating and maintaining high pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilities
Mechanical knowledge skills and experience
SAP experience
This position requires candidates to
Successfully qualify for specific job tasks per DOT and Company operator qualification requirements
Have and maintain a valid drivers license and a safe driving record
Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening to include drug and alcohol testing
Be subject to call out 24 hours a day 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes
Complete 12 months of service in the Utility A classification
Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures
Pass respiratory fit test and use equipment such as SCBA and other respirators
