Job Summary
We are working closely with Southern Housing to assist with the appointment of a Ground Maintenance Operative on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 12.50 - 16.16 per hour
Summary:
The Grounds Maintenance Operative is responsible for maintaining council-owned green spaces parks housing estates and public areas to a high standard. The role involves carrying out a variety of horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks to ensure outdoor areas are safe clean and visually presentable for residents and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine grounds maintenance including grass cutting strimming hedge trimming and pruning.
- Maintain parks open spaces and housing estates to agreed standards.
- Undertake planting weeding watering and general horticultural tasks.
- Collect and remove green waste and litter from designated areas.
- Use and maintain gardening tools and powered equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect outdoor areas and report any hazards damage or maintenance issues.
Essentials:
- Basic knowledge of gardening techniques and plant care
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Experience using grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers strimmers and hedge cutters.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
