Job Summary

Were looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our streetlighting team based in Thimble Mill Lane Birmingham. Location: Thimble Mill Lane Birmingham B7 5HR Hours: Permanent full time 45 hours per week Salary: 32000 to 35000 depending on experience and qualifications We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. Join our friendly streetlighting department at Kier where youll play a vital role in maintaining essential infrastructure. As part of our welcoming team youll contribute to quality excavation work within footpaths ensuring safety standards while collaborating with colleagues who value your input and support your professional development in a balanced work environment. What will you be responsible for As a Highways Maintenance Operative youll be working within the streetlighting team supporting them in delivering high-quality infrastructure maintenance. Your day to day will include: Undertaking excavations in various materials within footpaths including track work and joint holes Assisting with backfill and reinstatement of excavations to meet quality standards Completing documentation to comply with health & safety and NERS requirements Supporting the team in various tasks such as serving as safety assistant for live LV cable jointers Driving works vehicles and adhering to HSG47 safety protocols What are we looking for This role of Highways Maintenance Operative is great for you if: You have previous experience with excavations and understanding of HSG47 Youre knowledgeable about various streetlighting civils tasks NRSWA operative You have a full driving licence You enjoy collaborative work and building relationships across teams Rewards and benefits Were proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
