Description

Glenville State University is seeking applicants for the TRiO Student Support Services program. This position is a grant funded benefit eligible full time 12-month position.

Examples of Duties

Position Responsibilities

Develop implement and assess educational cultural and career-related programming inside and outside traditional classroom settings
Develop and implement recruitment and retention initiatives
Maintain open office hours for student advising and counseling
Maintain confidential student data for annual reports
Act as a representative of the program on campus-wide committees and initiatives

Desired Characteristics

Knowledge of education issues and barriers faced by first-generation low-income and/or disabled students
Enthusiastic/charismatic with a passion for working with college-aged students in an educational setting
Experience with academic career and financial aid advising in a higher education setting
Knowledge of and/or experience with TRiO programs
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Presentation and facilitation skills
Proven organizational writing social media graphic design advertising and publication skills
Goal-driven self-motivated energetic
Honest and loyal
Flexible adaptable ability to multitask
Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours

Typical Qualifications

Bachelors degree required in Adult Education Education Counseling English or Related Field.
