Job Summary
Description
Glenville State University is seeking applicants for the TRiO Student Support Services program. This position is a grant funded benefit eligible full time 12-month position.
Examples of Duties
Position Responsibilities
- Develop implement and assess educational cultural and career-related programming inside and outside traditional classroom settings
- Develop and implement recruitment and retention initiatives
- Maintain open office hours for student advising and counseling
- Maintain confidential student data for annual reports
- Act as a representative of the program on campus-wide committees and initiatives
- Knowledge of education issues and barriers faced by first-generation low-income and/or disabled students
- Enthusiastic/charismatic with a passion for working with college-aged students in an educational setting
- Experience with academic career and financial aid advising in a higher education setting
- Knowledge of and/or experience with TRiO programs
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Presentation and facilitation skills
- Proven organizational writing social media graphic design advertising and publication skills
- Goal-driven self-motivated energetic
- Honest and loyal
- Flexible adaptable ability to multitask
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
Typical Qualifications
Bachelors degree required in Adult Education Education Counseling English or Related Field.
