As a Finance & Accounting Co-op Student you will be an integral part of a collaborative Finance team focused on delivering accurate timely and insightful financial support to our programs and services. What youll be doing:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes including invoice processing and payment tracking
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare journal entries and assist with account reconciliations
- Help maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
- Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
- Compile financial data and generate reports for internal stakeholders
- Maintain organized financial records in accordance with policies and procedures
- Provide administrative and project support to the Finance team
What were looking for:
- Enrolment in full-time post-secondary studies in Accounting Finance Commerce or Business Administration (with a focus in Accounting/Finance)
- Strong interest in financial reporting accounting principles and data analysis
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts (debits/credits reconciliations financial statements)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables formulas data analysis skills considered an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems is considered an asset
