Student-at-Large: Truth and Reconciliation Action Committee (TRAC)


ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE

This is a volunteer position on a student governance committee from May 2026 to April 2027. While this is an unpaid role student committee members will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions and develop transferable skills. This position will be selected by the Indigenous Students Union. The Standing Orders for this committee can be found here.


ARRC has a mandate to help guide the UASUs work toward reconciliation. An example of the work done by the committee can be found here.

EXPECTATIONS AND TIME COMMITMENT

This committee will meet approximately once or twice a month. The meeting schedule is subject to change based on the availability of committee members. Committee members are expected to attend as many meetings as possible and carefully review all meeting materials in advance so they can make informed decisions.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be University of Alberta undergraduate students registered in at least one course for credit in the Fall and Winter semesters of the 2026/27 academic year. Applicants must be First Nations Métis and/or Inuit. This position is open to all faculties and all experience levels are welcome.
