OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Security & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all security and safety operations across the hotel ensuring a secure and safe environment for guests team members and hotel assets.
This role leads the development and implementation of security safety and risk management strategies that protect the hotel while maintaining a welcoming and discreet guest experience. The Security & Safety Manager works closely with operational leaders to ensure that safety procedures emergency preparedness plans and security protocols are effectively implemented across all departments.
The role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with local safety regulations and standards while supporting the hotels commitment to providing a safe environment aligned with the NoMad brand.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities of the Security & Safety Manager are summarised below; however the list is not exhaustive.
GENERAL DUTIES
Oversee the daily security and safety operations of the hotel to ensure the protection of guests team members and hotel property.
Develop and implement security and safety policies procedures and protocols in accordance with regulatory requirements and brand standards.
Monitor and maintain security systems including CCTV access control systems and alarm systems to ensure proper functioning.
Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the hotel premises to identify potential safety or security risks.
Investigate incidents accidents or security breaches and prepare detailed reports with appropriate follow-up actions.
Ensure proper coordination with external authorities including police emergency services and regulatory bodies when required.
Oversee access control procedures for restricted areas of the hotel.
Provide security support during high-profile events VIP arrivals and special hotel functions.
Undertake any other duties or tasks deemed reasonable by the Director of Operations or General Manager.
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT
Lead and manage the hotels security team ensuring adequate staffing and effective deployment across all shifts.
Provide training and guidance to team members on security procedures safety protocols and emergency response practices.
Promote a strong culture of safety awareness and risk prevention across all departments.
Conduct regular briefings with the security team to review operational matters incidents and safety concerns.
Work closely with department leaders to ensure security and safety practices are integrated into daily operations.
SAFETY RISK MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE
Ensure the hotel complies with all relevant safety regulations and statutory requirements.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
Maintain and update emergency response plans including fire evacuation procedures and crisis management protocols.
Coordinate emergency drills and training exercises for team members to ensure preparedness.
Liaise with local authorities and regulatory agencies where required.
Maintain accurate documentation of safety procedures incident reports and compliance records.
GUEST EXPERIENCE & BRAND REPRESENTATION
Ensure security and safety operations are carried out in a professional and discreet manner that supports a positive guest experience.
Assist guests when required demonstrating professionalism courtesy and care.
Support the hotels commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and team members.
Uphold the brand standards and service philosophy of NoMad while ensuring security measures remain effective and unobtrusive.

QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or Diploma in Security Management Hospitality Management Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum 58 years of experience in security safety or risk management preferably within hospitality hotels or large commercial environments.
Strong understanding of security operations safety management and risk prevention practices.
Experience managing incident response emergency procedures and crisis situations.
Familiarity with local safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
