Overview and application of theory and practice in health and physical education in the intermediate and senior divisions; study of current Ontario curriculum board policies and guidelines; overview of the design implementation and assessment of programs; strategies for designing inclusive and equitable learning environments that reflect individual student needs; examining inclusive and equitable learning environments; accessing resources; overview of current research; accessing and evaluating resources; reflecting on research to build student commitment to healthy living.

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.

These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.

These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Requirements:

The salary will be based on student enrollment.

  • Masters degree in education.
  • Specialist in Physical Education and Health at the Intermediate/Superior Division; second specialist an asset.
  • Facilitated ongoing professional development focused on implementing Ontario Curriculum a level in the past two years.
  • Current leadership position in facilitating professional learning to teachers and administrators with respect to Health and Physical Education teaching and learning at the elementary level.
  • Involved in a professional network in Physical Education.
  • Experience facilitating Intermediate/Superior Physical Education and Health AQ.
  • Membership or leadership position in education professional organization.
  • Has been responsible for developing and implementing Physical Education and Health program in an Ontario classroom during the last 5 years.
  • Capability of applying the Ethical Standards and the Standards of Practice of the Teaching Profession in Ontario.
