Job Description
Position Overview
The RDMS Registered Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in an inpatient clinical setting. This role requires the ability to produce high-quality imaging studies while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
The technologist will work closely with physicians and healthcare staff to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. Candidates with experience performing cardiac ultrasound or heart-related imaging procedures are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic Ultrasound Procedures
Perform general diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
Produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
Assist physicians with specialized imaging procedures when required.
Patient Care & Safety
Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and explain procedures clearly.
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
Screen patients for relevant medical history that may affect imaging procedures.
Equipment Operation & Quality Assurance
Operate and maintain ultrasound imaging equipment according to established guidelines.
Ensure imaging quality standards are consistently maintained.
Report equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate department.
Documentation & Compliance
Accurately document procedures and imaging results in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Maintain compliance with departmental policies regulatory standards and patient confidentiality requirements.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience performing general diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
Strong experience in diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
Cardiac ultrasound or heart scanning experience preferred.
Strong patient care and communication skills.
Education
