Job Summary

Are you a passionate and inspiring Chemistry Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a high-performing school We are seeking a dedicated Chemistry Teacher to join a thriving Science department at an Outstanding secondary school in Birmingham starting ASAP. This full-time permanent role welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs.

About the Role
As a Chemistry Teacher you will deliver engaging lessons that foster a deep understanding of scientific concepts and practical skills. You will support pupils in developing knowledge experimentation abilities and scientific reasoning while inspiring a lifelong interest in Chemistry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4 with potential KS5 (A-Level) opportunities depending on experience

  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all pupils

  • Designing practical activities and laboratory experiments safely and effectively

  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress providing constructive feedback

  • Contributing to curriculum development and departmental resources

  • Maintaining a stimulating safe and supportive learning environment

  • Supporting extra-curricular Science clubs competitions or enrichment opportunities

  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Science department and the wider school

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Degree in Chemistry or a closely related Science subject

  • Have QTS or PGCE or be completing an ECT programme

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching Chemistry

  • Have experience teaching Chemistry in secondary education or through placements for ECTs

  • Be confident in planning classroom management and practical work supervision

  • Be committed to inclusive teaching and safeguarding
