Driver Welfare Officerin a logistics company acts as the primary liaison between commercial drivers and management focused on improving driver retention safety and overall well-being. They are responsible for addressing driver grievances managing health and safety and providing support for both professional and personal issues to ensure high driver satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Driver Support & Relations:Act as the first point of contact for driver welfare grievances and support issues.
- Health & Safety Compliance:Ensure compliance with safety norms including mandatory rest breaks seatbelt usage and drug/alcohol policies.
- Onboarding & Training:Organize training on road safety defensive driving vehicle handling and behavioral skills.
- Feedback & Communication:Conduct regular welfare meetings and feedback sessions to proactively address concerns before they escalate.
- Operational Liaison:Collaborate with fleet/maintenance teams to deliver smooth efficient support.
- Reporting & Compliance:Report key issues accidents or misconduct to HR/Fleet Management and maintain records of welfare activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience:Previous experience in logistics human resources or employee welfare roles.
- Communication:Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and act as a liaison between drivers and management.
- Problem-Solving:Ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Knowledge:Familiarity with labor laws safety protocols and transportation regulations.
- Soft Skills:Empathy patience and a people-first attitude.
Common Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Reduction in driver absenteeism and turnover rates.
- Improvement in driver safety scores.
- High levels of driver satisfaction.
