The Telemetry Technician provides patient care by monitoring cardiac patterns on telemetric devices. This role interacts with patients actively participating in their recovery. The Telemetry Tech coordinates sand communicates patient status with various other clinical staff ensuring the safety and proper care of patients.
Job Responsibilities
The Telemetry Technician performs various telemetry monitoring functions in the care of patients.
Directly observes biomedical electronic device displays and creates accurate reports.
Coordinates/communicates between nursing and other departments.
Enters and retrieves computer data.
Maintains an accurate census at all times.
Maintains accurate room identification tags.
Communicates effectively with all team members. Enters the daily assignment into the call system.
Coordinates effective use of the nurse call system.
Performs consistent with Shepherd Center standards clinical policies and procedures.
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
Adheres to patient/family centered principles using the communication and engagement tools (OARS/AIDECT).
Performs other duties as required/requested/assigned.
