Primary Hours: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe effective and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical care within the institution. This role oversees the review compounding dispensing and monitoring of medications including controlled and investigational substances while safeguarding patient safety through accurate prescription interpretation therapy evaluation and clinical consultation. The position also provides leadership to pharmacy staff ensures regulatory compliance contributes clinical expertise to institutional decision-making and promotes quality pharmaceutical practices across all areas of service.
Reviews andinterpretsprescriptions.
Compounds and dispenses medications controlled substances investigational drugs and samples as ordered by physicians.
Reviews and maintains patient profiles for appropriateness of drug therapy allergies interactions and side effects.
Reviews and verifies technician activities.
Consults with physicians as necessary.
Assists in investigating reports of adverse drug reactions and the preparation or required reports.
Monitors drug supplies andensuresthe security of controlled substances.
Directs the ordering of new supplies and the disposition of outdated medications as appropriate.
Assignstasks to technicians or clerks assigned to the pharmacy.
Ensures on-coming shifts are properly staffed and briefed.
Assists in providing in-service training to clerks technicians interns residents and nurses.
Maintains records of controlled substances.
Ensurescompliance with pharmacy policies and procedures.
Assists in the preparation of pharmacy reports.
Provides drug information for medical personnel at institutions.
Makes formulary recommendations.
Provides staff of an institution with drug information data references etc.
Provides clinical input on institutional committees.
Directs or supervises pharmacy staff including staff at satellite pharmacies.
Other duties as assigned.
This position requires comprehensive knowledge of prescription medications controlled substance regulations pharmaceutical calculations compounding procedures and clinical pharmacy practices including the interpretation of laboratory results and evaluation of drug interactions and therapeutic appropriateness. The role demands strong analytical skills to assess complex medication regimens precise attention to detail in preparing and documenting medications and the ability to supervise pharmacy staff while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The pharmacist must communicate effectively with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams provide drug information and clinical guidance and maintain secure compliant medication management processes. Valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Oklahoma and 3 years of experience as a pharmacist OR
PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Oklahoma.
Experience with claims analysis for health plans pharmacy benefit management or drug utilization review
Medicaid experience (especially SoonerCare)
Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise the course of performing job duties employees are required to speak stand walk and reach with their hands and arms. This position requires extended periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Employees must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position. Being present at the office is an essential function of this position.
