Job Description
The Client is seeking an experienced Project Estimator to support mining construction and Oil & Gas related projects. The Project Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates budgets and forecasts for capital and operational projects using industry-standard estimating tools and methodologies.
This is a remote position requiring strong collaboration with project managers engineers and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mining construction and Oil & Gas projects
- Develop conceptual preliminary and definitive estimates using RSMeans
- Analyze drawings specifications scope documents and schedules
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labor materials and equipment
- Support project budgeting cost control and change management
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids and proposals
- Identify cost risks assumptions and opportunities for optimization
- Collaborate with engineering procurement and project teams to validate estimates
- Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking for future projects
Required Qualifications
- 5 Years - Proven experience as a Project Estimator in Mining and Construction environments
- Experience supporting Oil & Gas projects is a strong plus
- Hands-on experience with RSMeans estimating tools
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and cost drivers
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Proficiency in Excel and cost estimating software
- Strong analytical communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Mining Engineering Construction Management or a related field
