The Social Media Co-op Student will assist with content creation management and strategy across various social platforms for the Social Media team. The successful candidate will support social media content planning creation and post-production including engaging with stakeholders and assisting with administrative tasks. They will work alongside a creative and dynamic marketing team to help execute social media campaigns and contribute to the success of the organization.
What would my main duties be
- Collaborate with Marketing and Creative teams to support social media campaigns and media generation.
- Assist in content creation including short-form video and visual media tailored for social channels.
- Create and edit content for various platforms including Instagram TikTok LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure content aligns with brand goals and audience preferences.
- Assist with social media strategies to increase engagement and brand presence across platforms.
- Engage with online communities and track social media trends to inform future content creation.
Work Experience:
- Understanding of social media dynamics especially the role of video content in a business-to-business environment.
- Experience with social media platforms and how video and multimedia content can drive engagement.
- Ability to create engaging content that resonates with different audience demographics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for crafting posts captions and engaging with followers.
- A team player with a proactive adaptable mindset to keep up with the fast-paced ever-evolving social media landscape.
- Comfortable with tools for creating and editing social media content with emphasis on short-form video for platforms like TikTok Instagram and YouTube.
Other Requirements and Assets:
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for visual design elements.
- Strong analytical skills for tracking social media metrics and performance.
- Creativity and a passion for staying on top of the latest social media trends and willingness to experiment with new content formats and strategies.
- Strong communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing and copywriting skills for various platforms.
- Highly organized with effective time management skills to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with tools like the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro After Effects Photoshop) or similar video editing software.
- Experience with social media management tools and an understanding of analytics platforms is an asset.
- Familiarity and interest in AI tools (e.g. ChatGBT Copilot etc.)
Education Recommendations:
- Student enrolled in social media marketing digital marketing communications or a related field.
- Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program.
