Groundskeeper (Horticulture Qualified)

Good Shepherd Lodge is seeking experienced and motivated Groundskeepers to join our team and help maintain the beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces across our Kerrisdale Facility.

To be considered for this role you must have:

• Certificate II or III in Horticulture Parks & Gardens Landscaping or equivalent horticulture qualification
• Practical experience in garden and landscape maintenance

Our gardens play an important role in the wellbeing of our residents providing safe peaceful and welcoming outdoor environments. We are looking for people who take pride in their work and have a genuine passion for horticulture gardening and landscape maintenance.

About the Roles

We are recruiting for groundskeeping positions within our gardens and maintenance team. Working at Kerrisdale Gardens you will assist in maintaining lawns landscaped areas garden beds courtyards and outdoor spaces to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns gardens landscaped areas and outdoor spaces across the facility
• Mowing edging pruning planting mulching and weed control
• Care and maintenance of garden beds shrubs trees and pot plants
• Support seasonal planting and landscape improvements
• Maintain gardening equipment and ensure safe operation of machinery
• Identify and report grounds maintenance or safety issues
• Assist with irrigation and garden infrastructure where required
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team
• Follow scheduled grounds maintenance programs
• Support the development and improvement of outdoor spaces

About You

• We are looking for candidates who have:
• Certificate II or III in Horticulture Parks & Gardens Landscaping or similar (or working towards)
• Demonstrated experience in gardening horticulture or landscape maintenance
• Experience using gardening equipment such as commercial mowers trimmers and blowers
• Knowledge of plant care soil health and general garden maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high quality outdoor spaces
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
• A current National Police Check or willingness to obtain
• Current Flu Vaccination or willingness to obtain

Desirable

Experience working in aged care healthcare or large facilities

Experience maintaining indoor plants or courtyard gardensPrevious team leadership or supervisory experience (for Lead Groundskeeper applicants)
