The Financial Planning & Performance team is responsible for providing quality strategic insight and effective financebusinesspartnering to key stakeholders across the Save the Children International Global Teams and Members to drive quality financial and business outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead theSCIMemberFinance team and drive high performance through a combination of leading by example coaching and structured training and development.
  • Contribute to the development of a team culture that reflects our organisational values encourages learningcreativityand innovation and frees up our people to deliver outstanding results for all key stakeholders.
  • Finance business partner to the 30 Member finance teams and Resource Mobilisation team
  • Responsible for the consolidation and analysis of member finance results budgets andlong termfinancial plans including review of income performance and cost ratios
  • Provide finance leadership to enable the achievement of global growth ambitions as set out in the Global Funding framework including ensuring cost effective growth
  • Lead on the financial elements of the operation and performance monitoring of SCIs investments into fundraising growth
  • Analyse theSave the Childrenmovements financial dataand provide tablesgraphicsand commentary to tell the story tothe Board and other leadership groupsas part of both scheduled and ad hoc reporting
  • Support the SCI financial leadership driving an agenda of cost efficiencies across Save the Children Members byleveragingbest practicesidentifyingopportunitiesand influencing change
  • Work closely with the CFO and Director of FP&Pto drive consistency across Save the Children entities inmeasurement of financial performance to enableoptimaldecision making
  • Support Member financial reviews asrequired(e.g. in response to early warning indicators or following request forassistancefrom a member)
  • Responsible for key member interfaces such as the Member share calculations
  • Provide direction andsupporttothe SCA Shared Finance Systems Business Partnertomaximise the benefits of sharing a Financial ManagementSystem(FMS)and a common coding modelacross the SCA includesfacilitatingand supportinginitiatives to standardise processes and reporting help identify SCA reporting opportunities from the common coding / data modelensure thatthe FMS is designed optimallyand helpmonitor andguard the integrity of the common system and coding solution after implementation.

Experience and Skills

Essential

  1. Exemplary leadership skills with the ability to inspire motivate and influence teams.
  2. Demonstrates accountability and holds team members accountable in line with SCIs values.
  3. Expertise in financial management including budgeting forecasting and presenting complex financial information clearly and compellingly.
  4. A thorough understanding of financial systems and procedures.
  5. Understanding of key operational and strategic considerations relating tofundraisingstrategies organisational cost structure and driving cost efficiencies
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to interact with individuals at all levels and from various cultural backgrounds with credibility tact and diplomacy both remotely and in person
  7. Proactive and logical approach to problem-solvingwith the ability to anticipate requirements and obstacles.
  8. Conscientious and client-focused attitude.
  9. Excellent IT literacy including advanced skills in spreadsheet modelling and analysis.
  10. Strong time management skills with the ability to plan ahead and juggle competing priorities maintaininga calm disposition under pressure.

Desirable

Multi-Currency Environment: Significant experience working within a multi-currency finance environment.

Education and Qualifications

ACA CIMA CPA or qualified by experience
