What you will be doing:
- Assist senior attorneys with client meetings drafting pleadings and motions and preparing discovery requests and responses.
- Support case preparation for hearings mediations settlement conferences and trials.
- Attend hearings mediations depositions and court proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
- Assist with case management ensuring deadlines are met and issues are proactively addressed.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation preparation.
Experience you will need:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing with the South Carolina Bar (or eligible for admission).
- 13 years of litigation experience or a judicial clerkship preferred.
- Strong interest in building a practice in South Carolina Family Court.
- Solid understanding of civil procedure and rules of evidence.
- Excellent legal research writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with high-stakes and emotionally complex cases.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to developing as a litigator.
