SP Energy Networks is part of the ScottishPower Group of companies. We provide power on behalf of supply companies through a network of cables and power lines that we own and maintain.
The Land & Planning Team within Energy Networks provide support to the three Licence Businesses in the gaining of appropriate land rights and planning consents required to install and keep installed the distribution and transmission network in order for the business to deliver its statutory obligations for the delivery of the RIIO T2/3 Business Plans.
What youll be doing
Provide technical support to the Land Team in the gaining of relevant landowner consents through a number of responsibilities including direct contact with landowners to establish ownership of land to resolve land rights enquires or to process changes in ownership details and LV claims.
Where necessary assist in the preparation and issuing of land rights documentation and relevant plans. Assist with the application for statutory planning consents required to facilitate the development of the network.
Responsible for creating updating and the day to day management of the land rights records on both hard copy files the Land GIS and the SAP Real Estate System.
Processing of payments to landowners related to land rights activities including maintaining payment records.
Register Service Request Forms through the ESCOMS work management system to ensure new work requests are received logged examined and evaluated prior to issue to Land Officer.
What youll bring
A working knowledge of the Transmission Networks and the individual components such as substations and overhead lines is required with knowledge of the regulated nature of the business.
Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of parties at varying levels within organisations including management engineers planners lawyers statutory bodies farmers/landowners and the wider public.
Able to build relationships with key stakeholders maintain open dialogue and engage in negotiations in order to resolve adversarial and confrontational situations.
Knowledge and practical experience of Electricity Act 1989 Town & Country Planning Act Property Law Valuations Compensation Code and agriculture practices.
Working knowledge in internal financial processes and systems (SAP).
Understanding of combined land rights requirement and financial implications.
Knowledge of SAP preferable.
As a minimum you must demonstrate:
Previous experience in a role with customer facing activities.
Knowledge of the Transmission Network and its individual component parts.
Familiar with common software applications such as MS Office suite.
