Senior Support Worker Childrens Residential Home Taunton Up to 28000 sleep in allowance

Our client a small childrens residential home in Taunton provides short-term intensive placements for young people who require structured therapeutic support. Placements typically last 36 months with staff working closely with young people. As Senior Support Worker you will help lead shifts supports colleagues and maintains safe well-organised care routines.

Before You Apply

What Youll Need

  • Level 3 Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 years experience working with children or young people in residential care or a therapeutic setting
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Confidence supporting colleagues and leading shifts
  • Full UK driving licence

What Youll Do

  • Provide direct care and support to young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs
  • Lead shifts and guide residential support workers during daily routines
  • Follow and implement care plans ensuring safety and consistent boundaries
  • Record incidents progress and daily notes accurately within care documentation
  • Support education routines and activities that promote positive development
  • Work with external professionals and families involved in the young persons care
