Job Summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine Division of Hematology and Oncologyis seeking applicants at the Assistant Professor level or higher with a special interest in Classical (Benign) Hematology.The Classical Hematology Programprovides a full spectrum of tertiary hematology caretoadults with non-malignant hematologic disorders and practice-changing clinical and translational research. UT Southwestern is home to a unique combination of centers of excellence in Classical Hematology. These include a Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Center of Excellence a comprehensive adult Hemophilia Treatment Center and a coordinated pediatric and adult Sickle Cell Program which is a part of the American Society of Hematology Research Collaborative in Sickle Cell Disease.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead andparticipatein clinical and/or translational research medical education and excellent clinical care. An abundance of clinical and translational research opportunitiesareavailable spanning a wide array of interests with collaborations with other clinicians scientists and physician-scientists at UT Southwestern. The Classical Hematology Program provides clinical care at the Dallas County public hospital (Parkland Hospital) Clements University Hospital and UT Southwestern Blood Disorders Clinic. Our faculty are engaged in teaching fellows internal medicine residents and medical students from UT Southwestern. The successful candidate should be board certified or eligible in Hematology and hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Texas.

Applicant must have an M.D. degree or equivalent from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME accredited program.The successful candidate should be board certified or eligible in Hematology and hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Texas.
