Job Summary

Job Title:Student & Visitor Relations Graduate Assistant

  • Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for academic operations and administrative team including but not limited to:
    • Provide supplemental front-desk support in the Deans suite
      • Provide coverage when the front-desk Administrative Assistant is not at the front desk
      • Greet visitors answer inquiries and direct individuals to help them find the assistance they need
      • Serve as a mentor and role model for undergraduate work study students who will also provide front-desk coverage
      • Assist with customer service training of undergraduate work study students assigned to all offices in the School of Business
    • Provide support for events coordinated by the Deans office (faculty meetings awards ceremonies guest speakers special events etc)
    • Support SB Student Services outreach initiatives
  • Serve as student representative at specified School of Business events
    • Represent and answer questions about SB with prospective students and families at open house and admissions events
    • As needed represent SB at events such career fairs guest speakers and other on-campus or virtual events.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and sound judgement while representing the School of Business
  • Attend weekly GA team meetings and participate in all GA-specific training and professional development sessions
  • Provide supplemental back-up support for other School of Business GA functions as assigned (e.g. assist with career fair set up preparing admissions bags/folders etc.)
  • Graduate assistants will have a primary supervisor within the Deans Office and will complete projects with other School of Business staff as assigned.
  • Maintain a pre-set work schedule between normal business hours (8am-5pm) with ability to set work schedule around classes at the start of each semester
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate credit hours per semester
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises excellent judgement and discretion with confidential information
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with highest attention to detail
  • Strong Excel organizational analytical & communication skills
  • Hours of Position:
  • 20 hours per week; flexible schedule between the hours of 8 am-5 pm
  • Global Asset Management Education Forum support as needed Occasional events outside normal business hours
  • GAs will be needed for admissions (or similar) events typically occurring one Saturday or Sunday per month. Dates will be provided at the beginning of each semester
