Job Purpose:
The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of Flamingos health and safety strategy at the Stevenage site. Working under the UK Health & Safety Manager and as part of the wider Flamingo UK Health & Safety Team the role ensures legal compliance supports risk reduction and drives continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and support a positive health and safety culture ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Lead employee engagement initiatives encouraging participation in near miss reporting and continuous improvement
- Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the UK SHE Management System
- Continuously develop review and update SSOWs and associated health and safety training materials in line with industry standards and best practice
- Investigate accidents near misses and unsafe acts ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented
- Participate in joint Health & Safety meetings with Sandy and Weston sites
Experience Knowledge & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Health & Safety role ideally within a manufacturing or operational environment
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience in incident investigation root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Full UK driving licence
