Key Position Functions:
- Work closely with the Project Engineering Team providing technical and design support to determine the best solutions to specific customer needs.
- Support new product line design and development.
- Execute on all customer orders.
- Review product design for compliance with engineering principles company standards industry standards customer requirements and related specifications.
- Provide necessary calculations required on new and existing products.
- Provide engineering production support to machining welding assembly and other departments.
- Provide technical support for field service the customer sales and manufacturing.
- Together with the quality department troubleshoot quality issues as it pertains to material rejects material review warrantee issues and custom engineering requirements.
- Develop write and implement production procedures as it pertains to the support of engineering functions.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff on technical issues corporate policies project management and divisional objectives.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving engineering work.
- Ensuring compliance with safety principles applicable to the project.
Preferred Candidates Will Possess a Combination of the Following:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or technical institute
- Membership with APEGA or ASET or eligible to get membership
- Six on more years in product design experience. Wellhead or Gate Valve experience preferred.
- Proficient with 3D modeling and drafting with Creo or SolidWorks
- Experienced in the use of ANSI ASME and ISO drafting techniques and geometric tolerances
- Thorough knowledge of all API/ISO product requirements
- Solid experience with stress analysis
- Strong knowledge of the development and control of design documentation
- Proficient in writing technical reports and related documents
- Thorough knowledge of the wellhead industry and related competitors
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables and situations where only limited standards exist
- Field installation experience would be an asset
