Department Overview:
The Fund Development Department is responsible for securing the necessary funds to support Heritage Parks mission programming and ability to positively impact the community it serves Focused on donor acquisition engagement and retention the team innovates new revenue streams executes events and appeals and builds meaningful relationships with supporters The team works closely with the organizations strategic plan as well as multiple internal departments to ensure alignment with broader goals and objectives.

Job Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Fund Development the Major Gifts and Corporate Partnership Officer is responsible for generating significant revenue through the strategic management of a curated portfolio of approximately one hundred twenty individual donors corporate partners and prospects.

This role equally prioritizes:

  • Individual major gifts ranging from fifty thousand dollars to two hundred fifty thousand dollars or more and
  • Corporate partnerships and multi-year sponsorships within the same revenue range.
The Officer applies a disciplined LIA and lifecycle approachidentification qualification cultivation solicitation negotiation activation and stewardshipsupported by rigorous moves management practices CRM-driven pipeline oversight and data-informed strategy. The Major Gifts and Corporate Partnership Officer builds trust-based donor relationships with both donors and corporate partners grounder in ethical fundraising principles and the Donor Bill of Rights.

This position carries direct accountability for securing seven hundred fifty thousand dollars or more annually through a balanced portfolio strategy that ensures both individual and corporate revenue streams are actively developed equitably prioritized and strategically advanced.

This role also contributes to building and sustaining a strong internal culture of philanthropy and strategic partnership by modelling ethical fundraising and corporate engagement practices reinforcing philanthropy-centred and partner-centred thinking and fostering cross-departmental collaboration to support sustainable revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities reflect the dual nature of this role requiring equal strategic focus on individual philanthropy and corporate partnership development.

Portfolio and Pipeline Management

  • Manage and steward a strategic portfolio of approximately 120 individual donors corporate partners and prospects ensuring each relationship progresses intentionally through the donor and partnership lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement clear engagement and solicitation strategies for each portfolio relationship to drive meaningful movement retention and revenue growth.
  • Apply moves management principles for individual donors and structured development strategies for corporate partnerships to guide cultivation solicitation and stewardship activities.
  • Create tailored engagement plans that reflect the motivations decision-making processes and value propositions of both individual philanthropists and corporate partners.
  • Use Likelihood Interest and Ability (LIA) analysis to assess prospects prioritize outreach and determine readiness for solicitation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records within the CRM system including contact reports opportunity tracking pipeline management and revenue forecasting.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance tracking progress toward revenue goals relationship movement and donor and partner retention.
  • Develop and execute an annual portfolio work plan aligned with departmental strategies and revenue targets.

Major Gift & Corporate Solicitation & Revenue Advancement

  • Lead the full lifecycle of major gift and corporate partnership development including identification cultivation solicitation negotiation and stewardship.
  • Develop compelling cases for support customized proposals sponsorship packages and partnership presentations tailored to donor and corporate partner interests.
  • Secure multi-year financial commitments from both individual philanthropists and corporate partners to support long-term organizational sustainability.
  • Negotiate corporate sponsorship agreements including investment levels benefit structures recognition opportunities and partnership activation elements.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing & Communications to develop meaningful sponsorship opportunities and ensure the successful delivery of partnership benefits.
  • Align solicitation strategies and timing with relationship readiness donor interests and organizational priorities.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for leadership-level gifts transformational contributions and strategic partnerships that advance Heritage Parks mission.
  • Represent Heritage Park at community events networking opportunities and donor meetings to strengthen relationships and expand the prospect pipeline.

Stewardship of Donor and Corporate Partner Experience

  • Provide personalized and thoughtful stewardship to donors and corporate partners that honors donor intent and strengthens long-term relationships.
  • Ensure corporate partnership and sponsorship benefits are delivered accurately and effectively working closely with internal teams to fulfill agreements.
  • Prepare and share impact reports and updates that clearly demonstrate philanthropic outcomes and the value of corporate partnerships.
  • Maintain proactive and consistent communication with donors and partners to support retention relationship growth and long-term engagement.
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities for leadership-level and transformational gifts among individual donors and corporate partners.
  • Recognize and refer individuals who may have interest in planned or legacy giving supporting long-term philanthropic impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in non-profit management marketing business administration communications or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in major gifts relationship management or donor-facing philanthropic roles with demonstrated success securing gifts of fifty thousand dollars or more.
  • AFP affiliation and/or CFRE designation considered an asset.

  • The ideal candidate will also bring:
    • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships with donors funders and corporate partners through thoughtful engagement and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop compelling proposals briefing materials and donor communications.
    • Experience managing donor portfolios and advancing relationships through the fundraising lifecycle including identification cultivation solicitation and stewardship.
    • Proven ability to develop tailored cases for support and sponsorship proposals that connect donor and partner interests with organizational impact.
    • Strong organizational planning and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and achieving revenue goals.
    • High level of professionalism discretion and ethical judgment with a commitment to donor confidentiality and the principles outlined in the Donor Bill of Rights.
    • Experience working with donor database systems (Raisers Edge NXT preferred) and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departments aligning fundraising strategies with program priorities and partnership opportunities.
    • Demonstrated experience securing corporate partnerships sponsorships or business relationships is strongly valued.
    • Experience with corporate partnerships or sponsorship development is considered an asset.
    • Familiarity with annual giving planned giving fundraising events and charitable gaming regulations (AGLC) is considered an asset.
    • Knowledge of or interest in the mission programs and impact of Heritage Park and the role philanthropy plays in supporting cultural and community initiatives.
Special Working Conditions:

  • Professional business attire is required as this position must be prepared to meet with donors at any time.
  • May be required to wear a costume during certain fundraising events.
  • Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; and
  • Footwear as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department will be provided by the employee.
Hours of Work

  • The standard hours for this position are 35 hours per week.
  • The schedule will generally be five consecutive days per week (Monday to Friday); and
  • Occasional holiday evening and weekend work may be required
