Job Description
The CT Technologist / X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic CT and radiographic imaging procedures in an orthopedic-focused hospital environment. This role requires expertise in operating CT scanners and performing general X-ray examinations while ensuring patient safety and high-quality diagnostic images. The technologist will work independently during overnight shifts in a low-volume imaging department serving inpatient and outpatient orthopedic patients.
Key Responsibilities
Perform CT scans and diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures for orthopedic patients.
Conduct imaging studies including CT scans of the abdomen pelvis chest head/neck spine and musculoskeletal areas.
Perform specialized CT procedures such as CT angiography (CTA) brain perfusion imaging and multiplanar reconstruction.
Perform general radiographic exams including extremities chest spine/pelvis and musculoskeletal imaging.
Operate portable X-ray equipment for bedside imaging as required.
Ensure proper patient positioning radiation safety and adherence to imaging protocols.
Assist patients of all age groups including pediatrics adolescents adults and geriatric patients.
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to support diagnostic imaging needs.
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
Follow infection control safety standards and department protocols.
Schedule Details
Regular Schedule: Monday Friday 12:00 AM 08:30 AM (30-minute lunch)
Training Schedule (First 2 Weeks): Tuesday Friday 08:30 AM 06:00 PM
After training completion the technologist will transition to the overnight schedule.

Daily caseload averages up to 20 patients often lower due to overnight volume.
Required Qualifications
ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications.
Active New York State Radiologic Technologist license (DOH NYS).
IV Certification (mandatory).
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Minimum 2 years of CT and radiography experience.
Experience performing portable X-ray imaging.
Ability to work independently on overnight shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating Siemens CT imaging equipment.
Experience working in hospital imaging departments (ER ICU inpatient outpatient).
Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system.
