Job Summary
We are recruiting an outstanding Inpatient Psychiatry Medical Director. We are seeking a candidate who will support the integration of clinical innovation and research as he or she leads the clinical care team at the Texas Behavioral Health Center.Expertisein forensic psychiatry is desirable but not necessary.
This position will require direct patient care teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents medical students clinical psychology graduate students and other trainees and support of the academic mission of the department of psychiatry at UT Southwestern. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry. Candidates who are not currently Board Certified or Board Eligible will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis with consideration given to relevant experience and qualifications. While Texas licensure is notfor consideration orselection it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career. Academic experience and a strongtrack recordof clinical teaching is a plus.Additionaltraining or fellowship in a specialty is a plus.
