Job Summary

OPEN TO PERMANENT SENIOR CONSULTANT (PULIC HEALTH SOCIAL WORK) **

The Office of Crisis Services is responsible for a portfolio of contracted services and special projects that involve close coordination with other City and State agencies including Mobile Crisis and Crisis Respite. Without someone in this position will be lack of oversight poses a risk to individuals in crisis potentially leading to subpar services under the auspices of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
-Collaborate with the Department of Social Services to align programmatic and fiscal priorities specifically for shared portfolio of DOHMH contracted services within the homeless service system and broadly for the shared population of homeless people with mental health and/or substance use.
-Negotiate scopes of service and budgets for behavioral health services with other public and voluntary agencies.
-Demonstrate knowledge of co-occurring disorders mental health and substance use) which includes tobacco use tobacco products and vaping.
-Monitor adherence to scopes of service budgets relevant regulations and policies through frequent site visits data collection and analysis.
-Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of assigned contracted programs/program types and best practices. Based on this understanding identify and recommend opportunities for programmatic improvements and to inform strategic planning that optimizes mental health dollars in the homeless service system.
-Provide bi-weekly on-site monitoring support at the call center for calls texts and chats supplementing her ongoing monitoring responsibilities to ensure quality of service compliance and timely response.
-Provide quality assurance oversight supporting fidelity to one QA workflow and ensuring adherence to established performance standards and regulatory requirements
-Provide direct supervision supporting accountability performance management and continuity of operations
-Coordinate and collaborate with crisis service providers and key stakeholders including but not limited to Mobile Crisis teams Crisis Respite Residences SCC and other crisis services across the mental health continuum to ensure continuity of care and effective service delivery.
-Plan and facilitate crisis collaborative stakeholder meetings promoting communication coordination and system-wide problem solving.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
-At least 3 years of experience in behavioral health program management or direct behavioral health service delivery
-At least 2 years of experience in monitoring contracted behavioral health or social services.
-Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills;
-Ability to analyze and present data to groups and individuals
-Experience with performance management;
-Excellent time management attention to detail and organizational skills required.
-Strong computer and data management skills including proficiency with Word Excel and Power Point.
-Licensed Social Workers Licensed Mental Health Counselors and/or Licensed Psychologists.

Qualifications :

A baccalaureate degree issued after completion of a four-year course in an accredited college or university and a masters degree from an accredited school of social work plus:
1. Six (6) years of full-time paid satisfactory experience in social work including (a) two (2) years of casework experience in a health medical or psychiatric care agency adhering to acceptable standards; and (b) four (4) years in a supervisory consultative or administrative capacity or in teaching in an accredited school of social work with at least one (1) year in a health medical or psychiatric care agency; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent.
