Our team of over 30 dedicated RI subject matter experts specialise by asset class and role focusing on Nuveens three key principles: ESG integration stewardship and impact.

All RI team members work to set strategic priorities ensure best practices andestablishfirm-wide standards within their areas of expertise. Those with asset class specialisation collaborate closely with investment analysts portfolio managers risk management professionals and others across the organisation to drive the scale and quality of ESG integration and RI-focused product development.

Summer Internship Opportunities

Depending on evolving business needs the internship will involve some of the following tasks and deliverables

• Market research:Research RI/ESG industry trends market dynamics competitors and product characteristics to support development of Nuveen RI capabilities

• ESGanalysis:Conduct analysis on financially material ESG issues for key sectors in Nuveens portfolio to support investment processes and company engagement

• Communications:Contribute to reporting and communications related to the firms stewardship and RI activities

• Client engagement:Support responses and process improvements related to RFPs RFIs DDQsand other queries from clients and business partners across the organisation

• Presentations & Proposals:Support preparation of internal and external presentations proposals and recommendations

• Collaboration:Support collaboration and coordination among central RI team and sustainability/ESG/RI subject matter experts across teams and affiliates

• Regulation:Contribute to projects initiatives and processes related to ESG/RI regulatory developments datasourcesand emerging industry practices

WhatWereLooking For:

• Academic Excellence:On track for at least a 2:1 or higher undergraduate degree (or equivalent) preferably in finance business mathematics business administration or a similar field.

• Interest in Investment Management:General knowledge about investment processes preferably withinfixed incomeand private markets.

• Passion for Sustainability:Understanding and curiosity abouthow ESG/RI consideration canimpactfinancial risks and opportunities.

• Client Relationship Management:Experience in building relationships throughpreviousinternships part-time work student organisations or volunteer roles. E.g. You should be comfortable initiating conversations with stakeholders following up proactively andmaintaininglong-term connections.

• Communication Skills:Ability to translate complex information into clear concise written and verbal communications tailored to different audiences. E.g. You should be comfortable in preparing client ready emails delivering presentations to a small group of yourteamorwritingreports that inform decision-making.

• Team Collaboration:Proven ability to work effectively in team settings by actively listening to others perspectives contributing constructively to group discussions.E.g. You should be able to adapt your working style to help deliver team goals &objectives.

• Critical Thinking:Demonstratedability to understand business problems from multiple anglesidentifykey drivers of outcomes and propose solutions that balance competing priorities. E.g. Be able todemonstrateinterest in understanding investment principles and how client needs align with product offerings.

• Microsoft Office Proficiency:Strong competency with Microsoft Office with at least intermediate level PowerPoint skills. E.g. You should be able to create professional client ready presentations with consistent formatting and branding incorporate data visualizations (charts/graphs) from Excel use master slides effectively and deliver clear visually engaging presentationsand Advanced level Excel E.g. Master complex formulas (INDEX/MATCH nested IF statements array formulas) create and manipulate pivot tables and pivot charts use advanced functions (XLOOKUP SUMIFS COUNTIFS TEXT functions)

• Initiative and Ownership:Track record of taking ownership of projects or responsibilities without constant supervision.E.g. You should be able to proactivelyidentifyproblems and propose solutions ensuring regular communication whereappropriate.
