Phonics Teaching Assistant Bexley April 2026

A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Bexley is seeking a dedicated Phonics Teaching Assistant to join their team from April 2026. Phonics Teaching Assistant Whats on Offer:
- Permanent role starting in April 2026
- 36 hours per week term-time only
- Salary aligned with Bexley06 equating to approximately 25600 per annum pro rata
- Work closely with experienced teachers and literacy leaders
- Excellent experience for graduates considering teacher training or a PGCE
Phonics Teaching Assistant The Role:
- Support the delivery of daily phonics lessons across EYFS and KS1.
- Deliver targeted interventions for pupils who require additional support with reading and phonics.
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to strengthen decoding blending and pronunciation skills.
- Assist teachers with preparing phonics resources and structured literacy activities.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to class teachers and the SEN team.
- Encourage a positive attitude towards reading and build pupils confidence with early literacy.
Phonics Teaching Assistant Who Were Looking For:
- A graduate with strong literacy skills and a genuine interest in education.
- Someone considering a long-term career in teaching or working with children.
- A proactive organised individual who can work effectively within a classroom team.
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
