Trainee Lift Tester Tester

KONE has an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Lift Tester / Tester to join our New Equipment and Modernisation team on a full-time basis. This role covers the North East with occasional travel to other areas as required.

Key accountabilities as a Lift Tester:

• Test lift units in accordance with the relevant test documents and KONE standard interpretation of EN81 Lift Directive and Essential Health & Safety Requirements
• Commission equipment following agreed specifications and commissioning instructions
• Conduct technical assessments identify faults and record abnormalities for corrective action
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Carry out final inspection and sign the Final inspection document
• Liaise with relevant site personnel to ascertain state of lift
• Manage on-site communication with the customer for day-to-day testing and commissioning activities with a continuous coordination with Supervisor
• Participate in meetings and workgroups related to quality and technical matters
• Ensure lift well security (safe for other trades and public etc) and safety of all persons involved in the installation activities during commissioning and testing of the lift
• Report lift condition and progress to the Supervisor responsible for site activities

Qualifications and previous experience:

• NVQ3 in Lift engineering or equivalent qualification
• Willingness to complete the NVQ4 in Lifts and become a Tester
• Good computer literacy
• Good written and spoken English
• Clear UK driving licence
