The Team
The IT Operations team at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) is tasked with owning and maintaining the Production IT systems that underpin S&P DJIs index platforms and applications ensuring their high availability. The team prioritizes service availability service request management and continuous improvement of support processes through collaborative engagement with business stakeholders operations infrastructure and development teams. Additionally the team is involved in critical activities such as incident management emergency response change management problem management and capacity planning to support the robustness of S&P DJIs index platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • ProvideDaily Level-2 production supportfor Index Data Platforms ensuring high availability and timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor and validateDaily data load jobs proactively identifying failures and performance degradation.
  • SupportHistorical Data migrationactivities including validation reconciliation and issue resolution.
  • Respond tocritical production incidents deliver immediate workarounds and drive restoration to meet business continuity needs.
  • Partner with business operations to deliverday-to-day technical and data support including investigation of data queries and operational issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysislog and track defects and collaborate with engineering teams through resolution and release.
  • Escalate high-impact or non-resolvable issues appropriately providing clearstatus updates and ETAto stakeholders and customers.
  • Conduct scheduledsystem health checks publish outcomes and notify internal/external stakeholders of risks or anomalies.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving external parties such asstock exchanges and market data distributors.
  • Lead or facilitatepost-incident reviews (post-mortems)and ensure corrective and preventive actions are documented and tracked.
  • Maintain and continuously improvesupport documentation including runbooks checkout procedures and escalation paths.
  • Executedisaster recoveryprocesses and support change management activities (change tickets approvals and release coordination).
  • Coordinate withvendor partnersanddata hosting providersto resolve technical issues and service disruptions.
  • Communicate effectively withglobal customers business users and IT stakeholders ensuring clarity and responsiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or Engineering is required or in lieu a demonstrated equivalence in work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Level-2 Application/Data production support is required
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Oracle Postgres Database or any relational database PL/SQL troubleshoot & stored procedures knowledge required.
  • Good knowledge and experience in supporting enterprise applications using (C# MVC) Java RDBMS and modern web technologies.
  • Experience in writing Unix Shell scripts is required.
  • Experience working on AWS services like ECS EC2 RDS S3 Cloud Watch EMR Lambda Glue etc. is required.
  • Strong Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog or any other observability/monitoring tool like DynatraceGrafana etc.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline management using tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps etc.
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes & tools such as ServiceNow PagerDuty or similar incident management platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.


Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in Financial Services with experience in Index/Benchmarks Asset Management or Portfolio Investment domains.
  • Experience working with large datasets in Equity Commodities Forex Futures and Options asset classes.
