The Café Attendant performs a variety of tasks to ensure the orderly operation of the PDI store located in PDIs main facility. The store serves both individuals supported by PDI and employees and is an important part of PDIs mission and service philosophy.
PDI is seeking an energetic and customer-focused individual to join our fun and supportive work environment.
Schedule:
Part-time MondayFriday 7:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Receive and prepare food and beverage orders for customers
- Accept payments from customers and make change as necessary
- Record orders from individuals served and calculate bills using a cash register
- Maintain awareness of and follow dietary requirements for individuals served
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks and food items using machines and appliances including:
- Soft drink dispensing machine
- Water dispensing machine
- Popcorn machine
- Nacho cheese preparation machine
- Coffee maker
- Food processor
- Prepare and serve simple food items such as salads and nachos
- Cook or reheat food items such as hot dogs and nachos
- Clean and organize service areas including surfaces coolers and sinks
- Wash and sanitize equipment after use while following safety procedures and protocols
- Notify the supervisor of food and supply shortages and inventory needs
- Coordinate cash management procedures with the Finance Department
- Follow established procedures and safety protocols for food preparation area cleaning and sanitation

Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to work at PDI.
All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Employees are also subject to random drug screenings which may occur at any time during employment.
Candidates should be computer literate comfortable using technology and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Employees must also be able to complete and pass First Aid CPR and other required training.
