Position:Senior Executive - Reportage and Writing
Location:Mumbai - Worli (Office-based)
Work Schedule:Full-Time. Business Travel as Required.
Job Context
This position is a strategic role within the Ananya Birla Foundation (ABF) created to build and deliver campaigns and narratives across social media websites digital forums blogs and other communication channels.
We are seeking a passionate writer with 45 years of specialized experience in Social Impact Reporting CSR communications or sustainability journalism. The ideal candidate is a compelling storyteller who can translate complex data and program outcomes into high-quality content that drives awareness and inspires action.
Key Responsibilities
The candidates monthly focus will be on producing high-quality narratives and strategic content across three main pillars:
1. Long-Form Storytelling & Reporting
- Feature Stories:Produce long-form stories focusing on beneficiaries program efficacy and partnership highlights.
- Impact Reporting:Conduct interviews and gather evidence to draft well-researched pieces for annual reports press releases and project pages.
2. Short-Form Content & Engagement
- Social Narratives:Produce punchy captions and short-form narratives for immediate digital consumption (Social Media blogs internal newsletters).
- Brand Voice:Ensure all digital content is optimized for quick readership while maintaining accuracy and the Foundations authentic voice.
3. Writing Thought Leadership & Strategy
- Style Governance:Develop and maintain a consistent style guide for all social impact communications.
- Trend Analysis:Identify emerging trends in impact measurement to keep narratives relevant and credible.
- Data Translation:Collaborate with program teams to distill complex data into accessible impactful summaries.
- Innovation:Propose new narrative formats to maximize audience reach and engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience:45 years of professional writing/reporting specifically in social impact CSR nonprofit communications or investigative journalism.
- Portfolio:A strong body of work demonstrating expertise in both long-form and short-form digital media.
- Core Skills:Exceptional interviewing researching and fact-checking abilities. Skilled at turning quantitative data into human-centered narratives.
- Voice & Tone:Ability to pivot between formal report writing and empathetic storytelling without losing editorial integrity.
- Collaboration:Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders from executive leadership to program beneficiaries.
- Project Management:Excellent organizational skills to handle a consistent monthly cadence of deliverables and deadlines.
